Bug spray and daily tick checks should become part of the summer routine now that Ottawa is a Lyme disease risk area, says Ottawa Medical Officer of Health Dr. Vera Etches.
“What I am encouraging people to do is think of it as part of your morning routine.”
Etches said prevention and surveillance are the best ways to prevent Lyme disease, which can have serious health effects.
