For fans who have followed the relationship since it first sparked during Swift’s Eras Tour in 2023, the announcement felt like the final lyric in a fairytale ballad.

Their father, Ed Kelce, revealed to ABC News 5 in Cleveland that the engagement actually happened roughly two weeks earlier in the garden of his Lee’s Summit, Missouri, home.
“He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event. And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you. He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful.”
Other team members, including social media manager “Jets Jake,” chimed in, cheering and hollering in celebration of the news.
Jason admitted Wednesday that this week’s episode “probably won’t be as good” as the Swift-centered one, and the numbers back him up. Within 72 hours of its release, the episode drew staggering engagement, including 379 million Instagram views, 61.6 million views on X, 34.5 million TikTok views, and 21 million YouTube views (and counting).
The episode also garnered the podcast 400,000 new YouTube subscribers and propelled “New Heights” to surpass 3 million followers on Instagram.
“Thanks to the one and only Taylor Swift for hopping on and deciding to talk with two complete idiots that don’t know anything about the music industry,” Jason joked, calling it “a doozy” of an episode.
For Jason, Swift’s candidness during the interview was a revelation.
“This is the first time they’ve seen Tay really unload for that long of a period of time, and that, like, authentic and transparent of a way, and I think that it was incredible for her to feel that comfortable on the show.”
