Nicklaus Endorses Trump For Re-Election

Golfing legend Jack Nicklaus has publicly expressed his support for President Trump in the upcoming election, announcing that he has already voted for his re-election and encouraging Americans to get out and do the same. In a long statement posted onto Twitter last week, Nicklaus praised Trump for his tenure in office so far and claimed that Trump’s “love for America and its citizens, and putting his country first, has come through loud and clear” during his first term.

Trump hailed the endorsement as a ‘great honor’ and quickly pinned Nicklaus’ tweet onto the homepage of his profile. During his rally in Tampa, Florida the same day, Trump boasted to his supporters about the endorsement from one of golf’s greatest ever players. “Throughout the years, I have been blessed to personally know several presidents on both sides of the aisle. All were good people. All loved their country. And all believed in the American dream. I have had the privilege over the last 3 1/2 years to get to know our current president a little more as his term has progressed,” Nicklaus wrote in the statement released on Twitter.

“I have been very disappointed at what he’s had to put up with from many directions, but with that I have seen a resolve and a determination to do the right thing for our country. He has delivered on his promises. He’s worked for the average person. In my opinion, he has been more diverse than any president I have seen and has tried to help people from all walks of life – equally. “If we want to continue to have the opportunity to pursue the American dream, and not evolve into a socialist America and have the government run your life, then I strongly recommend you consider Donald J. Trump for another 4 years.

“This is not a personality contest; it’s about patriotism, policies and the people they impact,” he wrote. “His love for American and its citizens, and putting his country first, has come through loud and clear. How he has said it has not been important to me.” Nicklaus won a record 18 major titles between 1962 and 1986, claiming an additional 73 PGA tour victories during a professional career that earned him the nickname the Golden Bear. Only Sam Snead and Tiger Woods have more PGA tour wins in their career, both with 82. “He plays a little bit like I do — he doesn’t really ever finish many holes, but he can hit the ball and he goes out and plays and he just enjoys it,” Nicklaus said to Bloomberg on playing golf with the president.

Earlier this year, Nicklaus and his wife were both diagnosed with Covid-19. Nicklaus has spoken about their fortune as he suffered only from a sore throat, while his wife Barbara remained asymptomatic throughout. “Joe Biden is a corrupt politician that the fake news will not write about. They won’t write the story. They won’t write it, and big tech won’t write it. They won’t write the story. There’s the outside of the New York Post, who just endorsed me by the way, thank you very much, so fourth largest paper in the country. Got a lot of great endorsements,” Trump told supporters at his Tampa rally.

“We got a lot of great endorsements, such as the great Jack Nicklaus. You know Jack? But he can do everything can Jack. 78 tournaments he won, and he won 18 majors. Think of that, how great that is. That means under pressure he excels. You need people like that, right? People that can win under pressure, like Jack. But Jack gave me a beautiful endorsement. “We got endorsements from a lot of newspapers all over. We got a lot of endorsements. If Biden wins, thank you very much. If Biden wins, China wins. When we win, Florida wins and America wins. It’s very simple.

“And if I don’t sound like a typical Washington politician, it’s because I’m not a politician. And I don’t always play by the rules of Washington and the Washington establishment. It’s because I was elected to fight for you, and I have fought for you harder than any president has ever fought for the people they love. Never. “His policies would create a depression, and he wants you to surrender our country. That’s what he wants to do. He wants you to surrender our country to China, to all of these other countries that have taken total advantage of us. It’s really the reason I’m here. If it weren’t for the horrible trade deals with South Korea, with our allies, you know, our allies in many ways treat us worse than the enemy. The enemy, at least we have our guard up. Our allies, what they’ve done to us in terms of military protection and trade is disgraceful.”
