From exciting rides to fine dining, Cirque du Soleil, and five-star resort access, Mexico is gearing up to open the world’s first “luxury theme park” in 2026 with The Bon at the VidanteWorld Nuevo Vallarta.
The world’s first luxury theme park is making its way to Mexico next fall. The BON Theme Park will be opening at the VidantaWorld Nuevo Vallarta, right outside of Puerto Vallarta. This will be a 2,500-acre coastal property located between the Sierra Madre mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Travel and Leisure reports.
The goal of the park is to “create the best of all possible worlds” with wondrous beaches, high-end dining, entertainment, five-star hospitality, and thrilling rides. Vidanta was previously a members-only resort company, with this new venture they’re expanding to reach a larger travel market.
The new project will include the luxury BON Hotel and an original Cirque du Soleil production, which will both premiere this month as promotion for the opening of the whole park.
“VidantaWorld isn’t just entering the theme park destination market—we are elevating the guest experience and extending the market beyond families with young kids to better cater to active adults, multi-generational families and premium-minded, discerning couples with high service expectations,” Michel Beuffe, the chief operations officer for VidantaWorld, said.
BON stands for Beauty of Nature, and according to a statement from the company, this new venture will be the “world’s first luxury-focused theme park.”
”VidantaWorld represents the most ambitious hospitality and entertainment initiative to emerge in decades—a brand-new collection of luxury vacation experiences designed to elevate the typical theme park destination with a relentless focus on quality not volume.”
Across the new BON theme park, there will be 23 attractions that blend “a world-class luxury theme park with five-star resort hospitality.” Part of these attractions will include multiple coasters, original entertainment, and fully-immersive themes “lands built with the same ambitions you see in Orlando, California, or Dubai.”
In the preliminary conversations regarding the creation of this new luxury theme park experience, BON reached out to industry leaders who were responsible for some of the most visited parks in North America. Manufacturers of Zamperla, Intamin, Vekoma, and Mack were some of the pioneers involved in the theme park planning.
“These collaborations ensure BON’s mix of coasters, family attractions, and media-driven experiences matches leading international parks—and integrates seamlessly with elevated hospitality,” according to the company.
Travel and Leisure reported that the park will also be featuring 25 restaurants, 16 stores, and smaller theme lands named “BON Plaza,” “Fantasy Gardens,” “Empire of Light,” and “Land of Legends.”
“This marks one of the most exclusive large-scale park debuts in recent history.”
For the first year of opening, the company revealed that theme park guests will only be allowed to attend if they are staying at the VidantaWorld Nuevo Vallarta. This will be a part of a “hospitality-forward” model to minimize the amount of time guests spend on lines.
The BON Hotel will be offering views of the theme park and easy access to the new amenities and dining experiences. After the first year of opening, the theme park will become open to the general public.
The company stated that the project will be opening in phases with several offerings available as soon as this month. Starting this week, Cirque du Soleil will debut their water-themed dinner show entitled LUDO. This is going to be taking place in a $200 million custom-built theater.
The SkyDream Parks Gondola is now open as well, offering guests a wondrous view over the park with private airborne gondolas. The property also has championship golf.
Within the next few months, even more and exciting details will be revealed about the upcoming luxury theme park.
