Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Becomes Fastest-Selling Album in Modern Music History
Taylor Swift has done what even pop icons with decades-long careers couldn’t: sell more than 4 million copies of a single album in just one week. According to Billboard, Swift’s 12th studio LP, “The Life of a Showgirl,” moved 4.002 million units between October 3 and 9, combining traditional sales and streaming numbers. The figure marks the largest opening week for any album since modern tracking began.
